Who Dammit Cares????
This is just me in all my "assholeness" venting, talking noise and speaking the truth. That's all a cynical woman like me knows how to do!!
RIP AMY
For the love of money……
Money and happiness seem to be like oil and water. You can’t have one and have the other. They just don’t mix or so people say. The love of money turns some into heartless, greedy, snakes who value nothing more than the value of their funds. Everyone wants to be rich right? Live in million dollar homes, schmooze with socialites and celebs, frolic on the world’s greatest beaches. But at what cost? Happiness??? There is nothing wrong with having attainable goals and a solid plan. To say I want to be a millionaire next year and have no plan isn’t really fathomable. My belief is that people confuse riches with success. Being successful and reaching for something you want is better than any riches. Big money comes with big problems, taxes and leaches. Becoming what you want in life. Finding your niche. Achieving your goals is an indescribable feeling that money can’t quite provide.

Where is my Prozac????
Lately there just seems to be this wave of depression cast over the world. Everyone and everything i know including yours truly seems to be wading in the water of the dark side. I have noticed that i wear almost ALL black whenever i go anywhere. Am i in a blue funk??? Partly because i feel like I'm the size of a brick house but partly because i guess that's how i feel?? Black and Grey, not Black and Yellow. Someone actually pointed it out me. Then i realized i was one of them. Our music right now seems so drab and obscure. Why are we so grim for practically no reason. My friends are all sad, having some issue or another. Kanye West is apologetic about calling Bush racist, Kid Cudi's new album makes me want to sit in a dark corner in the fetal position and cry, and now I'm hanging out in anti-political, fuck the man hipster spots in my town. Hmmmm....someone pass me an anti, a cold beer, some black nail polish and my tom's. Sigh.....

Let The Church Say....Pass the Courvoisier Amen
Ok imma go there to that oh so touchy subject we all steer clear of publicly or socially conversing about. Religion. Honest to goodness I’m writing this over a tweet that struck someone’s nerve, mine initially and theirs in my sarcastic response of course! Im sry! I studied the bible and religion in college and didn’t learn much, maybe because my teacher didn’t speak good English. Touchy, touch, touchy thing it is. Religion. Living where I live as corny and trite as this sounds it’s a small melting pot. College town's usually consist of thousands of different countries cultures and religions. My best advice point. Blank. Period. Respect peoples culture and religious choices. Religion and Racism run hand in hand if you ask me. The quickest way to insult someone is to degrade or deface something they believe in or support. On A side note while I’m on the subject, something a few friends of mine have been noticing a lot; The Mon-Sat freak and the Sunday holy roller. Yeah you know what in talking about!!!! Please stop with this act of hypocrisy and absurdity!!! I cant tell you how many times I can go on my Facebook on any random week day see a “F*** them H*es talking bout me, I’m on my grown woman S*yt get like me” or B*tch I’m finna go get on this oil, drink me some 4 Locos” But come SUNDAY you are “Holy Holy Holy praise ye jah ” “shhooondababboshaaahfjdjkd speaking tongue's” “Good is good (on Sundays)“ Get the HELLLLLLLLL outta here. That bugs me beyond belief! We got to do better as a whole people. Facebook status updates and not cussing and drinking on Sunday’s is not your ticket to living sanctified. I have my own views and opinions of religion, culture and God now that I’m an adult. As a child its forced on us. People either use it for the good of them, or a tool of destruction. I want to call myself a Christian. Then again what is Christianity? What is religion? Man made? Yeah. I think it is. Will we ever know the answers to these questions. NO.
I personally went a slightly spiritual route. Pray. Stay positive, read my affirmations. I don’t go to church, only on rare occasions. I don’t send prayer request when I want rims on my car or a new fit, and I don’t go ham on Sundays to make people think I’m more than I am. Working on a cleaner natural diet (if possible) lol. Try to be a better person. Make better and MUCH more conscious choices. And yes my life has been better. And no my Southern Baptist or AME church house didn’t influence me to those changes or help me. Meaning that people often get caught up in “being” part of a religion, verses and individual. All the rules of what u can and cant do just to even come sit in church, such as a dress code. It’s discouraging. I don’t shun going to church, or believing in what you believe in. Just think about things a little open minded. Do what works for you. Not for the majority.

Oil: The Devil's Gold
Florida is a big producer of seafood as we all know. After a early 90's net ban that crippled a lot of fisherman's lively hood and businesses, another situation might do much worse. A net ban is exactly what it sounds like. An oil spill is worse that what it sounds like. Pollution of our gulf and all of its creatures. What will this do for the economy of the south? What is there is a hurricane during the spill? Already, the spill has hit the region's $2.4 billion seafood industry. Key shrimp and oyster fishing areas have been closed, pushing prices much higher. The Gulf produces 73% of the nation's domestically produced shrimp and 59% of its oysters, says the National Marine Fisheries Service.
I'm sorry to say that i think the future of our gulf and our economy is unknown. This is one disaster we surely didn't need. Screw BP. They didn't want to take reresponsibility when it even initially happened. And this Brit Tony Hayward says he wants this to be over so he can get back to his life? WTF? What about the life of the south?

Resurrection: Hip-Hop
SINCE I HAVEN'T UPDATED MY BLOG IN A HOTTTTTT MINUTE. AS SOMEONE POINTED OUT TO ME TODAY. LOL. ITS TIME. AHHHHHH. AS I SIT HERE AND LISTEN COOL KIDS AND TO MY CO-WORKERS BITCH AND TALK ABOUT SPORTS.....I SWEAR MAYBE ITS JUST SOUTHERN WOMEN, BUT WE ARE ALL SO INTO SPORTS. BOSTON S*YT TALKIN, SO CAL VIOLATIONS AND OF COURSE GATOR TALK. HA!! BUT BACK TO THE SUBJECT AT HAND......I BEEN LISTENING TO SOME NICE TUNES LATELY. AND HAVE LAID OFF THE TRASH TALK BECAUSE THESE WAC (RAP) "STARS" THAT HAVE BEEN POLLUTING THE FLOW OF GOOD MUSIC ARE SLOWLY BUT SURELY FALLING OFF!!!!
COMING FROM A MUSICAL BACKGROUND I HAVE LEARNED TO APPRECIATE ALL TYPES OF MUSIC. I GREW UP ON LOTS OF CLASSICAL, JAZZ, ORCHESTRA. TRANSITIONED TO GREEN DAY, FABOLOUS, AND THE ROOTS. FOUND A GREAT LOVE FOR ROOTS, ROCK, REGGAE, SKA AND DUB, DANCEHALL AND CONCIOUS. I LOVE IT ALL. BUT I TEND TO APPLY MY MORALS TO MY MUSIC SENSE TOO. WHICH MOST SAY IS A NO-NO. I JUST CANT DEAL WITH THESE FAKE RAPPERS AND THEIR TRASH JUICE RAP SKILLS. AS I SAID TODAY EARLIER ON MY TWITTER, AND YES I'M QUOTING MYSELF "Its like nobody wants to be THAT "rappin ass n*gga" anymore. Everybody just wants 2 be "that n*gga that raps". ITS THE LUV FOR THE GAME THAT WILL ALWAYS DEPLETE WITH TIME WHEN DOLLAR SIGNS ARE EVIDENT. I GUESS JUST BEING A LOVER OF HIP-HOP DOES IT TO ME. MAYBE ITS BECAUSE I LIVE IN THE UGLY SWEATY PITS OF THE SOUTH. I WILL PROCLAIM THAT I AM NOT A HIP-HOP HEAD OR PHILOSOPHER. I DON'T KNOW EVERYTHING THEIR IS TO KNOW ABOUT HIP-HOP OR EVERY ARTIST, AND NEITHER DO 75% OF THE ONES THAT CLAIM TO. WHAT I CAN SAY IS THIS. WHEN U KNOW SOMETHING IS REAL AND GOOD. U FEEL IT. NOT "OH THIS RAPPER SUX BUT HE DROPPED ONE HOT LINE IN THIS TRACK", IM TALKING THAT CRACK SHYT THAT GOT U HOOKED, BEGINNING TO END, BAR FOR BAR, HOOK LINE AND SINKER. THAT SHYT U FEEL AND MAKE U REALLY VIBE IS HIP-HOP ACCORDING TO ME. I KNOW SO MANY UNDERGROUNDER'S AND UP AND COMERS THAT ARE 487% BETTER THAN HALF THESE "DUDES THAT RAP" WEST COAST IS REALLY HOLDING IT DOWN NOW DAYS. COOL KIDS, PAC DIV, DOM K AND WIZ TYPES. TABI BONNEY DC, J.COLE, BUT NY AND THE NORTH IS WHERE IT WILL ALWAYS BE.
MY PERSONAL FAVS THAT I REALLY HOPE MAKE IT TO THE TOP LIKE RUGZ D BEWLER HARLEMITE, MY MAN ERIC GOOD BY WAY OF BALTIMORE, & AYATOLLAH JAXX FROM PITT. THOSE ARE JUST A FEW OFF TOP THAT HAVE THAT ENERGY.
I TRULY BELIEVE THAT A RECESSION EFFECTS EVERY ASPECT OF LIFE EVEN MUSIC ,BUT HIP HOP HAS BEEN IN A SLUMP FOR SOME TIME NOW BUT SEEMS LIKE WE COULD BE RESURFACING. MAYBE IM JUST A EARTHY IRIE VIBES HIPPIE AT HEART BUT ITS TIME FOR THE COME UP. AND I FEEL IT COMING.

Are you a Humanitarian or an Egotist ??
Ok i write a lot from what people say on my FB and Twitter. Just in general what going on in the world right now. I'm highly opinionated. And I got some. Cuz i wouldn't be me if i didn't. It seems like people from this (southern) demographic region, are slightly ignorant to whats really good and whats not. Call it color (Obama) blind. But some of these assholes are truly ill.
A chic I went to elementary, high school whatever, the same chic that wouldn't let us black kids play red rover on the playground in 3rd grade. Yes i took it there. Said and i quote this ass "I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR FERTILITY TREATMENTS, BUT ABORTION IS WHAT?! A CO-PAYMENT NOW?!?! OR WAIT...IF I WANT A BABY...ITS GOING TO COST ME" Im thinkin....Since when did Saturday's shopping day consist of buying children??? Motherhood and pregnancy is not a retail shopping experience. It's a gift from GOD. Everyone is not meant to have kids. HELLO??? "BUT IF I WANT TO ABORT IT...AMERICA NOW HAS ME COVERED! THANKS OBAMA. THEY VOTED FOR THE 2ND BIGGEST MISTAKE, THE FIRST ONE WAS YOU BEING OUR PRESIDENT".
So i researched this health care reform these broke ass local republicans are wailing about. Pros and Cons: Whats the cost of something without the COST. Call me crazy but i'm just saying. Supposedly This should make healthcare avail for everyone. And whats wrong with that? I work and I DON'T have healthcare. And wont buy it because its too expensive. And working in health care and having asthma for the last 20 years my health is not %100. Also Insurers will not be able to stop paying for people who are sick, even if they lose their jobs. U know that people who are sick cant go out and get insurance? And the ones who are already sick can get dropped at ANYTIME. Health insurers can no longer cap coverage and tell u ok thanks Kristina but we have spent enough on ur sick ass. The downside is that crazy word again. COST. 100 Billion a year. The same amount WASTED on the war every year. There will be a tax increase on very high income people. If you are making more than half a million then u get hit a whole %1 and i don't know ANYONE who falls in that slot. Large employers may also have to offer health insurance to more of their employees. If they do not, they may have to pay some extra tax. Additional regulation on insurance companies. This might increase costs. It will increase quality.
I'm sorry but people are too SELFISH. They don't ever realize what is good as a whole because it doesn't directly effect them. If they ask me if u would like insurance Kristina, but it could take away from a child having it. How would u feel? I would give mine up in a second. Would u??? This world is a completely F-ed up place. And i'm not proud to be an American. We live in a sick and twisted society thats ran by a bunch of opinionated people like me. And at this point its Not Obama, Bidden or anyone else. But someone has to be in the puppet show. And now at the expense of a "black... well mulatto man" the burner is hot. But look at how many really bad presidents we had, thats why we are where we are today?? Or the fact that the government really is a conspiracy, no a confederacy. Lets face is we are in a "Garrison State". Its only further and further downhill from here. Sorry to be realistic.
